In Basic Research, discovery targets are broad. Scientists and researchers generally look for capabilities that have some efficacy with an articulated broad market or customer-based need.
Applied Research generally has a more specific target. It usually focuses on a known problem, business opportunity, or an application area where economic or social improvements are possible.
02 / Advanced Development
Advanced Development generally takes these possible and likely feasible solutions and further reduces the risk in hopes of culling out the best alternatives to deliver to an expressed target for a capability or feature to incorporate into products.
03 / Product Development
Finally, Product Development invents what’s needed and necessary “now” and packages both the form and function of all feasible and risk-reduced features and/or capabilities into products planned for release to the marketplace.

OUR STORY
We started out as a young, smart kid in middle school named Sawyer. He was interested in the vast possibilities of unknown worlds and the cloning of Dolly the sheep. Now we're on our own,with 35 different branches in the USA as well as around the globe, changing the world daily and creating the future of tomorrow, years after Sawyer received his first birthday chemistry set.

Flaming Noodle Laboratories is a groundbreaking and innovative scientific corporation dedicated to finding large breakthroughs of the study of the space-time continuum and biochemistry. We will not stop our relentless drive to success until we have conquered the vast challenges of traveling freely in the space-time continuum and human cloning as well as other biochemetic challenges.

The P in PHIST stands for Plan. We have to plan what we are going to do, which we have done by creating the PHIST Initiative.
The H in PHIST stands for hire. We will have to hire more people willing to face extreme challenges in the face of failure to boost our company's chance of succeeding
The I in PHIST stands for Invent. We have to invent new tech and theorums using our newly hired employees to reaffirm our profits.
The S in PHIST stands for sell. After we develop the new products, we will have to market them to companies that already sell some of our other products, so they can sell them to consumers.
The T in PHIST stands for Turn-Around. If we succeed with the first four steps of the plan, we will get to this one as well as the finish line in our race to boost profits and wages.

Sawyer Prescott was a 21-year--old with an idea. He would create an international think tank, finding ways to improve knowledge about things imperative for future survival. He created Flaming Noodle Labs, an innovative laboratory with a name inspired by his childhood gaming tag.
